About this portal
This website is an experiment in scaffolding my digital identity. As such, it is very much a work in process. I designed it with three goals in mind: The first, to integrate my multi-faceted identity with the many places I am becoming virtually/digitally engaged. Second, to communicate my values and focus, and establish the "look and feel" of my heart. Should anyone search for my name on the Internet, I want them to find me here, explore, and take away an impression.
A third use: This collection of hypermedia works as second skin or clothing for my ideas. Keeping the front page open helps me organize my own thoughts, dreams, projects, and possibilities. More about process and platform....
Words at the front of the portal link (or will link) to different kinds of web spaces and three separate domains:

in Wordpress (Still under construction) where I make notes to self thinking half out loud about the half-formed ideas, partially-lit insights, and reflections (and the welcome comments that re-in-form them.) It may become a content management system that allows me to tag, categorize and archive my lifestreams. "Perspector" is the associated persona and also the username for my

Blue linked words will dynamicly generate article pages (in some way I haven't figured out yet) from categorized blog posts. Pink linked words will pop out to someone else's external site on a topic I am interested in.Portal home>Perspectance>P_page
and purple linked words: One page where I can list, describe, link, and remember the endless things I care about that pretentiously start with the letter P.
Portal home>Perspectance>Projects
A subsidiary page to track and nurture current and speculative works in process born on the P-Page. I still need to learn how categorical pages can have their own headers.
Semi-external website at Learning Hubs.net
The research and development site that harbors my dream of sustainable networked community learning environments. Learning Hubs is a concept I am nurturing for the next year to explore new ways of providing meaningful education and community development regardless of age or geography. The site itself will grow as a Learning Hub resource, but will also be the place to attract and collaborate with kindred spirits. Would love to develop community on this site with forums and the like. (Still under construction)
More about my Portal Process and Platform: I originally envisioned the page very differently, as a mobile hanging inside of a box. Word magnets would dangle and drift, in and out of a soft spotlight. The spotlight would follow a visitor's mouse on-focus. Word magnets would function as hyperlinks to my other sites and pages. I imagined this could be accomplished with Javascript of some sort, but I don't know any Javascript, nor could I find anything already built which could be modified.
I thought of other sites I've made, all the blogs I enjoy, and what I love to capture digitally when I am outside. I noticed how much I appreciate tag clouds and how I doodled them in my paper journals long before they were invented. Tag clouds are the best invention! Nature metaphors have filled my paper journals too. My family is now used to me grabbing the camera to capture something "for a web element".
I like working in Dreamweaver and learning to separate content from style with Cascading Style Sheets.
Unfortunately, I only know enough CSS to tread water. So when I get tired of perseverating and hearing the Grandfather clock chime my life away, I give up and float on some tables or styles to get me to shore. Hopefully, I will continue to learn how to swim the site beautifully with more elegant code.
